An RV is a house that gets shaken down the highway. Panels crack, seams open, storage doors take hits, and tanks split. Solar Patch bonds to the fiberglass, aluminum, ABS, and polyethylene an RV is built from, and cures in 5–10 minutes of sunlight — including at a campsite with no shop in sight.

Why It Works on the Road

The whole point is that the repair happens where the failure happened. There's no mixing, no measuring, and no cure window ticking down — you cut what you need, press it on, and the sun does the rest. A patch and a UV light in the storage bay turns most panel and tank failures into a delay instead of a trip-ender.

Choosing a Size

Cover the damage with about an inch of sound material all around. RV panels flex constantly on the road, so cracks travel — cover past the end of any crack.

Small (3" × 6") — punctures, small cracks, trim damage

Medium (6" × 9") — panel cracks, tank splits

Large (9" × 12") — large panel damage, long seams

Before You Start

Clean and dry the surface. RV exteriors carry road film, wax, and oxidation, all of which stop a bond. Scuff the area, wipe it down, let it dry.

When Solar Patch Isn't the Right Call

Rubber membrane roofs. Many RV roofs are EPDM or TPO rubber membrane, which is not on Solar Patch's rated substrate list. For a membrane roof, use a product made for it. Solar Patch works on the fiberglass, aluminum, and ABS parts of an RV, not on rubber roofing.

Structural damage. Frame, floor, and structural wall damage needs a professional.

Anything pressurized. Not rated — including water supply lines and propane. Never propane.

Active leaks you haven't found the source of. Patching where water appears rarely fixes where water enters.

RV Repair FAQ

Can I use it on my RV roof? It depends on the roof material. On fiberglass and aluminum roofs, yes. On EPDM or TPO rubber membrane roofs, no — that's not a rated substrate.

Will it hold on a holding tank? Yes, on ABS and polyethylene tanks, once drained and dried. Not for pressurized tanks or drinking water tanks.

Can I paint it to match? Yes, once fully cured.

Will it survive highway speeds and weather? Cured Solar Patch is rigid and weather-resistant, rated to 200°C dry and 90°C wet.

Can I do this at a campsite? That's the idea. Sunlight is the only equipment you need — or a UV light after dark.
