Why It Works on Ribbed and Curved Metal

Corrugated and formed panels are hard to patch because the surface isn't flat. Anything rigid has to be shaped to the profile before it sets; anything flexible doesn't cure hard enough to last.

Solar Patch stays workable until UV hits it, so it presses into ribs, valleys, and curves with full contact, then cures rigid in that shape. It's also Class 1 fire rated to ASTM E84-18, which matters on structures and equipment.

Choosing a Size

Cover the damage with about an inch of sound material all around. On a ribbed panel, work the patch into the profile rather than bridging across it.

Small (3" × 6") — screw holes, punctures, small rust spots

Medium (6" × 9") — larger holes, cracks across a rib

Large (9" × 12") — extended corrosion, multi-rib damage

Before You Start

Clean and dry the surface. On rusted metal, scuff back to sound material — patching over loose rust bonds the patch to something already failing. On painted metal, scuff the paint so there's a mechanical key.

When Solar Patch Isn't the Right Call

Structural members. Beams, joists, and load-bearing frame need proper repair, not a patch.

Electrical enclosures with live equipment. Have a qualified electrician handle anything involving live gear or where enclosure ratings are required by code.

Panels that are mostly gone. If there isn't sound material around the damage, replace the panel.

Anything pressurized. Not rated.

Is it fire rated? Class 1 to ASTM E84-18 / BS 476 Part 7, with an 840°F flash point and self-extinguishing behavior.

Can I paint over it? Yes, once fully cured.
