Solar Patch seals holes, cracks, and splits in PVC, ABS, metal pipe, conduit, and downspouts. It cures rock-hard in 5–10 minutes of sunlight, so a drilled line or a rusted-through downpipe gets fixed on the spot — no fittings, no cutting, no shutdown.

Important: Solar Patch is not rated for pressurized systems. It's for pipe, conduit, and drainage that isn't under pressure. More on that below.

Why It Works on Pipe

The hard part about a round surface is contact. Two-part epoxies sag and run on a vertical pipe while you wait for them to kick. Tape conforms but doesn't cure, so it moves.

Solar Patch stays workable until it sees UV, which means you can wrap it around the pipe, press it into the curve, and get full contact everywhere before anything hardens. Then it cures rigid — a shell around the damage rather than a coating on top of it.

Choosing a Size

Wrap fully around the pipe where you can, with about an inch of sound material past the damage on every side. For a split that runs along the pipe, cover the whole split and past its end.

Small (3" × 6") — small-diameter pipe, punctures, drilled holes

Medium (6" × 9") — standard runs, longer splits

Large (9" × 12") — large-diameter pipe, extended damage

Before You Start

Shut off flow and drain the line. The surface has to be clean and dry — a damp pipe won't bond. On rusted metal, scuff back to sound material; on PVC, clean off dirt and any residue.

The Pressure Question — Read This

Solar Patch is not rated for pressurized systems. That includes pressurized water supply lines, air lines, hydraulic lines, and pressurized fuel lines.

We say it plainly because the alternative is someone finding out the hard way. A patch that seals a drain line beautifully is being asked to do something completely different when there's 60 PSI behind it.

What it's for: drainage, waste lines, irrigation runs that aren't under pressure, conduit, downspouts, and sealing damage on pipe that carries no pressure.

What to do instead on a pressurized line: cut out the damaged section and replace it with a coupling, or call a plumber. A temporary patch on a pressure line isn't a repair, it's a delay with a worse failure at the end of it.

When Solar Patch Isn't the Right Call

Anything pressurized. See above.

Drinking water lines. We don't have potable-water certification. Don't use it on pipe carrying drinking water.

Gas lines. No. Call a professional.

A pipe that's structurally gone. If the pipe crumbles when you scuff it, patching a hole in it doesn't help.

Can I use it on a pressurized water line? No. Not rated for pressurized systems.

Will it work on PVC? Yes. PVC is one of its rated substrates.

Can I patch rusted metal pipe? Yes, if there's sound material around the damage to bond to. Scuff back to bright metal first.

Does it work on conduit? Yes, on PVC and metal conduit.

How long does it take? 5–10 minutes in direct sunlight. A UV light works in shade or under a building.
